Entry 006 - What do I do with this 'God gap'? pt 2

Updated: Jun 16

That’s the gap - God how do we…how do we fix it?

What do I do with the gap? The God gap?

He answered me. He answered me so gently, and with a kindness my soul will never be able to comprehend.

There is a way the world is created. There is a way God has made the world to be, for humans to be. We will never fully understand it - I mean God's ways are higher, and they are better than our ways. So the mystery will always remain. (Read Job 38-41 to be amazed even further by this truth.)

That is why we are called to live out our lives in faith, and to trust Him. Even though we feel like He isn't being good to us, we have faith that we will see His goodness and that He is good. I mean there is so much reassurance in the fact that God never changes. So, since He was good and we know that and have seen His goodness then we can trust He will continue to be good to us.

He reminded me that my feelings aren't facts and that I need to learn how to control my mind and thoughts (or more Biblically speaking, bring them to submission). Otherwise they will control me, and the unprecedented and unwanted spiral will begin.

This fact remains - That God is love - He cannot be anything aside from that, so I need to believe that, and trust that even if I do not feel like it, He is.

Now remember this isn't a call to neglect our feelings or ignore them, or suppress them - it is a call to surrender them. To recognize that you feel neglected, and to tell God that, but also to tell Him that you know that He hasn't left you and that He is there with you and that you want to experience Him in that capacity. God answers and He hears, and He will show up as many times as you want. I mean, have you read the Old testament, or taken a little trip down the book of Psalm? If you haven't, do it. You will realize that even David was a man that knew God was good, and still asked and asked over and over again for God to be good to Him.

Most importantly, have you heard about Jesus? He saved you once, and best believe, He will keep rescuing you over and over again - just don't let go. Don't let the fears, and the gap get to you. xx
